Mercy Medical Center, located in Nassau County, is rated one of the top ten medical facilities in the US. With 375 beds, 700 physicians and 1,700 employees, Mercy provides critical care to patients in and around Nassau County, NY. Mercy underwent an extensive and complicated expansion program that included three major phases. A new Ambulatory Surgical Unit, an expansion and modernization of their Operating Room Unit and a new and relocated Central Boiler and Chiller Plant to serve the entire campus.

Dynaimc, with extensive health care experience, was chosen due in large part to the successful Operating Room project at another hospital for this health care system completed a few years before. These three projects included new air handling units, steam and hot water boilers, chillers, cooling towers and pumps all connected to several new and existing areas in the facility with thousands of feet of pipe including underground high-pressure steam piping.

Phasing on a project like this is critical. It involved creating temporary spaces to move their Cardiac Care Unit and OBGYN Unit. Dynamic had to work closely with the General Contractor, Project Engineer, Architect, Hospital Administration, Infection Control Departments as well as many other trades. Planning on this project was critical as many systems simply could not be taken off line until the new equipment was completed, tested and signed off.

This project was performed over a two-year period. At the height of this project Dynamic had over 25 sheetmetal workers, over 30 piping mechanics, 8 controls technicians, Rigging and crane operators and numerous other support and management staff. Dynamic received many accolades from the hospital staff and all professionals associated with this project and at a grand opening Dynamic received special recognition from a community representative and the Diocese of Rockville Center, as did others on this project.
